Starring Thru

Today’s Internet yak breeding adventure has had me go through the posts of the LJ’ers who danced at the specialty tip at the International Association of Square Dance Clubs’ convention. (See otterpop58‘s list of LJ dancers at the tip and urso‘s pictures).  I counted three squares dancing and another square of watchers when we got together Sunday.

Reading  about the people I’ve seen in the hallways and squares is great fun.  My Puritan New England upbringing keeps me from marking all the LJ’ers as “friends” (apparentparadox has a good discussion of Internet “friends”)… I don’t want anyone to think I’m getting to pushy or too personal!  But, I have happily surfed through blogs and learned about people’s lives and oddnesses.  It’s reassuring to know that there are so many complex folks out there.

From my surfing comes this non-personally-invasive meme,

I am The Star

The Star is most welcome when grief and despair have overwhelmed us. In our darkest moments, we need to know that there is hope, that there is light at the end of the tunnel. The Star is the opposite of the Devil who strips us of our faith in the future. Card 17 holds out the promise that we can eventually find peace of mind. The Star also reminds us to open our heart and release our fears and doubt. If you have been holding back in any way, now is the time to give generously.
