I keep re-reading the ballot book to find a reason to vote for any of the propositions in next week's election.  My search has not been successful. The fundamental imbalance between revenues and expenses is maintained if the any/all the propositions pass.  The structural overspending/under-collecting will continue. Me, I see two issues that must be fixed. But each problem has hugely powerful interests protecting it. We are too generous to public employees. The California Supreme Court is about to issue its ruling on Prop 8. Equality proponents don't expect a good result and are preparing appropriate responses. This clip is from folks who organized civil disobedience after the passage of Prop 8 in November. Greg Stewart, Senior Minister of my church, the First Unitarian Universalist Society of San Francisco, has some good lines in this.
